Meet Our Staff
Drs. Ivey, Hurlbert, and Fox were friendly competitors at Trinity Meadows when they decided to join forces. Their partnership became Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery, which in the beginning was simply a supply and billing office in Weatherford, TX. The practice eventually grew and more space and staff was needed. The three envisioned building an equine veterinary facility geared toward treatment of the equine athlete. Their vision became our current state of the art equine medicine and surgery facility which opened its doors in September of 2001.

Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery (ESMS) is headquartered in Weatherford, TX and features a diverse group practice with multiple locations throughout New Mexico, Texas, & Oklahoma.
History
ESMS is located in Weatherford, Texas next to I-20 with easy access and a large rig parking area.
Vision:
Our goal at ESMS is to be the premiere equine medical facilities in North Texas and New Mexico, and the standard of quality veterinary medical care for the patients and clients we serve. We will attain excellence and inspired performance by developing the talents and greatness of our staff, through our commitment to superior client service and by conducting ourselves in an ethical, respectful and professional manner.
Our practice offers a full spectrum of services including internal medicine, surgery, racetrack, reproduction, chiropractics, acupuncture, performance, ambulatory, digital radiology, ultrasound, climate controlled hospital & exam rooms, 24/7 remote monitoring of our equine patients, 16 hospital stalls, 9 ICU stalls, 80-stall mare motel, 10-stall stallion barn, modern surgery suite, large exam rooms, in-house laboratory, Idexx LaserCyte analyzer, Microbiology lab, on site EIA lab etc. ESMS treats a variety of performance, breeding and companion horses.
